From Rappler (Jun 22): ASG kidnaps 2 Fil-Algerians in Sulu
Members of the Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) kidnapped two Fil-Algerian sisters in Barangay Liang, Patikul, Sulu, on Saturday, June 22.
Authorities identified the victims as Nadjova B. Abdelbasit and her sister Linda Abdelbasit.
Reports said the Abdelbasits were onboard a passenger jeepney from Barangay Tambang in Patikul, going to the town of Jolo. When the jeepney was approaching Sitio Baunoh in Barangay Liang, they were forcibly taken by more or less 10 armed men.
The men were identified as part of the kidnap-for-ransom group's Lucky Nine Group. They were led by Aljini Mundoc, Ninok Sapari, and Bensaudi Mundoc.
The suspects fled with their victims toward Sitio Kanjimaw, through Barangay Tugas, in Patikul.
