From Rappler (Feb 2): Aquino beats generals in shootfest
President Benigno Aquino III – a known shooting enthusiast – won the Game of the Generals annual shootfest held at the Philippine Army headquarters in Taguig City on Saturday, February 1.
The commander-in-chief defended his title as champion of the Man versus Man category, besting 50 generals and a number of their civilian counterparts from the various government security agencies.
In the end, it was between the President and Bureau of Customs officer Junny Guadalupe who competed in the Man versus Man category.
Photos released did not include the President. Media were barred from covering the event held at the Philippine Army headquarters in Fort Bonifacion in Taguig City.
The President's own Team Presidential Security Group (TEAM PSG) also dominated the shootfest, according to a press release on the event.
"The teams of PNoy dominated in almost all the stages nabbing a total of 5 special award trophies, 10 gold, 10 silver and 5 bronze in 5 different categories," said Army spokesperson Captain Anthony Bacus.
The team of Armed Forces chief of staff General Emmanuel Bautista (TEAM GHQ) was the champion in the Team versus Team category. He led a team of generals from the military general headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo.
Bautista's team got 2 trophies, 6 gold and 10 silver.
