From InterAksyon (Dec 16): Army keeping watch on MNLF forces gathering in Cotabato
Army units are now keeping close watch on an estimated 200 Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) fighters spotted in the vicinity of Sitio Tuway, Barangay Tugal, Midsayap town, Cotabato Monday morning.
Capt. Antonio Bulao, 602nd Infantry Brigade civil-military operation officer, said that the group, headed by Commanders Noran Oto, Hasan and Dumo, was spotted around 7:00 a.m.
Bulao said intelligence reports indicated that the group was apparently after the relatives of Barangay Tugal chair Peng Kolilong, who were allegedly involved in the killing of Kasanudin Guialal, the former barangay chairman of Barangay Bakat, Datu Piang town, Maguindanao.
He added that the 40th Infantry Battalion is now closely watching the situation.
