From InterAksyon (Sep 10): EXCLUSIVE | MNLF expecting reinforcements from Sulu, as rebels dig heels in Zamboanga
The Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) is expecting reinforecements from Sulu to arrive in Zamboanga City by Wednesday, the rebel group's leader said on Tuesday.
In an exclusive phone interview, Ustad Abdul Malik told News5's Erwin Tulfo that they already have 1,500 fighters in Zamboanga City, and they are expecting an additional 500 members to arrive by Wednesday morning.
Malik is the leader of the MNLF splinter group that attacked the city on Monday. He said they are not backing down and will not leave until they have declared their independence in Zamboanga City.
"Ang trouble nito pag hindi na-solve ito, trouble ito sa Mindanao," Malik said. (This trouble, if this doesn't get solved soon, it will be trouble for the whole of Mindanao.)
